Mouse CPS Test

This mouse CPS test counts every left click. Pick a duration, click inside the box and keep going until the ring closes. Your clicks per second update live, and the chart shows how your speed held up second by second.

Get a reliable CPS score in three steps

  1. 1. Choose a duration

Start with 5 seconds for a burst score, then try 10 or 30 seconds to see how your speed fades with fatigue.

  2. 2. Click until the ring closes

The timer starts on your first click. Keep your wrist relaxed and your index finger loose; tension slows you down.

  3. 3. Compare the chart

The bar chart shows clicks in each second. A steep drop near the end means endurance is your limit, not top speed.

What this CPS test gives you that others don't

Per-second chart

See exactly where your speed peaked and where it fell off instead of a single average.

Five durations

1, 5, 10, 15 and 30 second modes cover quick bursts and long PvP fights.

Best score memory

Your best CPS stays on screen for the session so you can chase it.

No ads in the click box

The whole test area is clickable, so you never miss a click on an ad border.

Learn the clicking techniques people compare

Regular clicking
One deliberate press per click with the index finger. 4 to 7 CPS for most people.
Jitter clicking
Tensing the forearm so the hand vibrates against the button. 10 to 14 CPS, but tiring and hard on the wrist.
Butterfly clicking
Alternating two fingers on the same button. 15 to 25 CPS; some game servers treat it as cheating.
Drag clicking
Dragging a finger across a textured button so it bounces. Extremely high CPS on specific mice only.

Answers to the CPS questions we get most

What is a good CPS?

Around 6 CPS is average for regular clicking. Anything above 8 is fast, and 10 or more usually means jitter or butterfly technique.

Why do my clicks not register?

Some mice debounce clicks for 8 to 20 ms. If you click faster than that, the second press is dropped. Lower debounce in your mouse software if it allows it.

Does a gaming mouse increase CPS?

A little. Lighter switches and lower debounce help, but technique matters far more than hardware.

Can I take this test on a phone?

Yes. Tap the box; every tap counts as a click. Touch sampling rates differ from a mouse, so compare phone scores with phone scores.

Fix a CPS score that looks wrong

Score is far below what you expect

Check the double-click test for dropped clicks, then make sure your mouse debounce delay is not set too high.

Clicks count twice

Your switch is bouncing. Run the double-click test; if it flags faults, the switch needs cleaning or replacing.

Timer never starts

The test needs a left button press inside the box. Trackpads that send tap events as right clicks will not start it.

Chart is empty

The chart draws after the timer ends. Let a test run to completion rather than resetting early.
